Coastal biodiversity conservation urged

As per media reports, biodiversity experts have highlighted the need for Coastal Management Zone (CMZ) regulation, focussing on biodiversity conservation and ecology of the coastal areas. This came up at a brainstorming session on the draft CMZ regulations organised by the Kerala State Biodiversity Board.The experts who took part in the discussion included V.S. Vijayan, chairman of the board, M.K. Prasad, U.K. Gopalan, P. Leelakrishnan, B. Madhusoodana Kurup, K.V. Jayachandran, D. Sanjeev Ghosh, V. Kesavadas, Charles George and K.S. Purushan.
