SC asks Centre about action taken against K.G. Balakrishnan
The Supreme Court Monday asked the Central government to inform the court on the action taken or intended to take against former Chief Justice KG Balakrishnan.
The Supreme Court direction came in a petition filed by the NGO Common Cause alleging misconduct against National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) chairman Justice K.G. Balakrishnan.
The apex court bench headed by Chief Justice S.S. Kapadia asked Attorney General G. Vahanvati to inform the court whether any action has been taken by the government on the representation made by the NGO or what it proposed to do about it.
