About Kanyakumari
Kanyakumari is a town in the Kanyakumari District in the state of Tamil Nadu, India. The place, during the British Raj was given the title of Cape Comorin. It is named after the Devi Kanya Kumari, who is believed to be the sister of Lord Krishna. Kanyakumari lies at the southernmost tip of the Western Ghats range.
The Destination
Kanyakumari is a very beautiful location and is surrounded by hills, seas and monuments. Being at the southernmost tip of India, this place is the meeting point of the Arabian Sea, Bay of Bengal and the Indian Ocean. Kanyakumari is especially famous for its sunrises and sunsets. In the warm, full moon evening called Chitra Pournami, one can see the moon rise along with the sunset.
